Grampa Lloyd
My Grampa passed away on Monday morning. I went to Prince Albert that afternoon so I could be with my family. When two men came that evening to pick my Grampa up, something wonderful happened during the time they were there. The men first asked my Grampa "where would you like us to take you?". My Grampa thought for a second and replied " I'd like to go to a place where im no longer in pain. Where I can eat all the steak I want and chase it down with a beer. I'd like to go to a place where I can kiss my mom again, hug my dad, and teach my great grandaughter Reicy how to dance. I'd like to go to a place where I can watch over my family everyday, watch them grow and change through this journey called life. I'd like to keep them safe and help them when they seek my guidance. The two men looked at eachother and then said "We know just the place. It's called Heaven and it is everything you just asked for." My Grampa smiled. It was the first smile in a long time. He then closed his eyes and the two men took him to Heaven.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work this way, but I like to think it did. Although for months we were living on edge, wondering when he would pass, we still weren't expecting it to happen so soon. My Grampa will be terribly missed, but we know he is in a better place now.
I love you Grampa.
Britt

Britt,
My thoughts are with you. Times like this are never easy. When my Grandfather passed, the scene of my Grandmother waiting for him on the other side of the pearly gates saying, "Bill Follack, where have you been?" got me through it. I'm sure your Grandfather is catching up with friends and family now.
stopped by your blog because i noticed we share the same name when leaving a comment on elsie's blog for all that cute product.
