Fairy Canvases

As promised, here are the canvases I made of my nieces in their fairy costumes. I was in Edmonton this past weekend and my sister brought these with her so that I could take pictures of them to post on my blog. I didn't know who to give them to at Christmas so I told my mom and my sister that they could decide amongst themselves who got to keep them. Of course my mom said that Danielle could have them if they were of the kids, but when she actually saw them she was sad she gave them away so easily. I felt bad for my mom so I will be making her a set of canvases for her bedroom. 

I really loved making these canvases. I had no real 'plan' when I set out to make them, so I just did what I thought felt right. There is a lot of texture to them and I used many different elements when creating them. I love making canvases!! Can't wait to make more in the future.

Happy New Year

Thought i would do a quick post, seeing as it has been forever. First of all Happy New Year! I hope 2009 brings great things for everyone. I am trying to have a more positive outlook on this upcoming new year then I have in past years, however I am still hesitant to make resolutions. It seems that many people feel the same way about resolutions as myself, which helps take off the pressure. 

Anyways, here is a layout that I finished in early November. It came together super smoothly and I love the finished product. 

I handmade four of my gifts this past Christmas and of course I left the finishing details until the very last day. Infact, I didnt even wrap two of them so I was unable to take pictures of them before I gave them away. I will have to sweet talk my sister in taking some pictures of them for me, so I can post them.
